Mangalore, Aug 17: Having rescued 8 fishermen in the undivided district of Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday August 15, the Coast Guards were in thick of action again on Wednesday.

After receiving news that a boat which had gone fishing had stranded in the middle of the sea, Coast Guard staff sprung into action and rescued all the 8 fishermen.

A fishing boat "Lakshmi" had gone fishing on Wednesday from Old Port here.  However, the boat faced technical snag while in the middle of the sea owing to which the fishermen were stranded the deep.  Heavy thunder storms and raging waves had been posing danger continuously.

Fisheries department received this news and immediately alerted the Coast Guard who in turn got into action and saved all the fishermen along with the boat.  The fishermen have been identified as Babu, Joseph, Velluchami, Amburaj, Kannan, Murugan, Chandran and Kumar.
