Mumbai, July 29: Nitin Evlekar, an employee of the fire brigade had passed away in a massive fire mishap that occurred at commercial building Lotus Business Park, Linking road in Andheri (W) on Friday July 18.
Sudhakar Shetty, executive president of Sahana Builders and Developers group of companies and Jai Maharastra 24x7 news channel donated Rs 10 lacs to the family of the deceased and pacified them.
Sudhakar Shetty and local MLA Ashok Jadhav invited Shubhangi Nitin Evlekar, wife of late Nitin Evlekar, daughter Sanvi Nitin and son
master Suvas Nitin to the office of Jai Maharastra TV channel at Andheri west, inquired their welfare and sympathized with them.
Shabhangi lamented that though many leaders visited them during the last one week, promising financial assistance nobody actually
handed over any money. She said that on one hand she is burdened with the responsibility of looking after small children and on the other the circumstances leading to the death of her husband are not clear. Meanwhile she added that she is grateful to Sudhakar Shetty for having personally invited and helped her. She shed tears pleading the donors and the government to help at least for the future of her children.
Speaking on the occasion and offering homage to late Nitin Evlekar, Sudhakar Shetty said though death is inevitable to all of us, nobody should die at this young age. "However it is the wish of the almighty," he said.
"The thought of the wife of the deceased bringing up the two small children is the question pestering everybody. Other businessmen should come up and extend their help. Only then will the youth be inspired to get employed in the fields of protection," he added.
MLA Jadhav said that he has ordered for a thorough investigation into the incident and has thought of financial assistance by the government. He said that he has discussed about it with Chief Minister Pratviraj Chauhan.
Shubhangi's parents Ananth Ambeth and Shaila Sarangawkar, chief executive of Maharastra News Channel Kelvin Joshua Udupi, Suvarna Joshi and others were present.
