Mangalore, Aug 18: The Suratkal Consumers' Forum on Friday August 18 held a protest rally urging the authorities to take action to improve the road conditions of the National Highway 17 between Mukka and the city.

The protesters blocked traffic on Suratkal - Panumbur road and held slogans expressing their concerns and demands.

Coastal Route Bus Owners' Association also participated in the protest, and hence most of the buses were off the road. Suratkal Yuva Morcha and other local organisations too participated.

A buffalo-race was also held as part of the protests.
