Beltangady, Aug 18: A person accused of rape on minor girl ended his life by consuming poison in his house at Kalmanja near Ujire here.

Keshav Moolya (40) had been accused of raping his housemaid who was a minor.  Keshav owned a tyre works near Ujire petrol pump.  His neighbour Aithaparava's daughter was coming to work in his house.  It is said that during this period he had used her sexually for long.

His sexual abuse came to light when the said girl conceived.  The girl had recently delivered a baby after which her family members had filed a case with the police.  In the complete the girl had stated that Keshav Moolya had raped her many times. 

Having been insulted by all these developments, Keshav, a married person with two children, ended his life on Thursday when no one except his children was at home.  It is said that the fact that the said girl had physical relationship with several others but had stated only his name in the police station had hurt him a lot.

Coupled with this, was already married with two children.  His wife has been in the hospital for some days now owing to ill health.  So when he consumed poison, she was not in the house.

The Beltangady police have registered a case in this regard.
