Puttur, Aug 19: "Conversion and Jihad are nothing but efforts of two minor communities to Islamize and Christianize our country.  This is an international conspiracy.  While Hindus have been killed under the name of Jihad, Christian missionaries have been converting Hindus to Christianity under the pretext of service.    However, this cannot go on for long.  We all Hindus have to come together and fight these forces," called on state convener of Hindu Jagarana Vedike Jagdish Karanth.

He was addressing thousands of people who had gathered at Kille Maidan here for the "Save Tirupati" rally organized by Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike on Friday August 18.

He said that Christian missionaries are sowing the seeds of venom at Tirupati with the help of political help.  "It is not only Tirupati.  I even see the same hands working behind the entire Sabarimala controversy," he thundered.

Mangalore MP Sadanand Gowda in his speech said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi has been promoting conversion activities.  "If you see all over the country, five states ruled by Congress have Christian chief minister.  This clearly indicates Sonia Gandhi's intentions," he added.

MLA Shakuntala Shetty, Hindu Hitarakshana Vedike honorary president Dr M K Prasad were also present on the dais.
