Mangalore, Aug 19: "World Konkani Day" organized by Konkani Bhasha Mandal, Akhil Bharatiy Konkani Parishad and Dr TMA Pai Foundation, Manipal on the occasion of Konkani recognition day was inaugurated on Saturday August 19 morning. 

The programme held at Loyola Hall in the St Aloysius College premises.  Richard Moras, convener of Konkani Kutam, Bahrain inaugurated the function in the absence of former minister Blasius D'Souza.

Dr U S Mohandas Pai, president of Konkani Minorities Education Institutions' Association, Raghunath Shet, president, building committee of Vishwa Konkani Kendr, Dinesh J Gollarakeri of Saraswat Education Society, Kudpi Jagdish Shenoy, president, Besant Education Institutions and P Vithobha Bhandarkar of Amgele Balaga were present on the occasion.

Fr Eric Crasta, president Konkani Bhasha Mandal and Paul Moras, president of Akhil Bharatiy Konkani Parishad were also present on the dais.  Venkatesh N Baliga compered the programme.
