Mangalore, Aug 19: Prison Ministry of India, Mangalore unit celebrated the Independence Day at district jail here recently.

Fr Francis Lewis, director of Sandesha was the chief speaker on the occasion.  In his address he said that jail is not a place of punishment but a place to change one's life.  Superintendent of the district Govindappa too addressed the gathering.  Jailor Suresh said that his wishes that all those who are in the prison must go out soon and lead a new life.  Dr Gopesh Kumar too was present on the occasion.

Prison Ministry of India, Mangalore unit president Fr Boniface D'Souza welcomed the gathering and secretary Sr Daphney proposed vote of thanks. 

Stany D'Souza compered the programme.
