Mangalore, Aug 21: Alcoholism has become a great menace to our society. On the average, 17 people suffer from one person’s drinking and his family stands on the edge of devastation.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an international non-profit fellowship striving to help the suffering alcoholics on a corrective mission. It has chapters and units in many countries of the world. 

A new group of AA starts at Shanti Kiran, Bajjodi , Mangalore on Tuesday, August 22 at 6-00 pm. While observing the 50th Anniversary of AA’s arrival in India, this new group which will hold its meetings in English, aims at the recovery of many alcoholics and their families in and around Mangalore.

Essential information regarding the addiction, how to cope with the victim and what measures the family of the victim should take will be explained during this meet of a hour's duration.

Alcoholics and their family members are cordially invited to this attempt of waging a battle with the bottle.
