Udupi, Aug 21: In two separate road mishaps occurred in the distrct, two persons died.
On Aug 18, a rashly driven car hit a motorist at Guddeyangadi. The impact of the collision resulted in serious head injuries to the bike rider who has been identified as Krishna Naik.
Although Naik was rushed to the hospital he breathed his last on Aug 19.
A case has been registered against rash and negligent driver of the car in Hiriyadka police station.
Prior to this accident, a tempo knocked down a labourer in Bramhavar.
The accident was reported near Hosakattu, Kadoor village, Brahmavar. Goods from a tempo were being unloaded by Gopal Naik aged 40 years. Naik who was trying to climb the vehicle from behind to load the goods was crushed down by the vehicle which moved as the driver was unaware of the fact that Gopal was climbing the vehicle.
Gopal fell down and sustained serious head injuries. He was immediately shifted to KMC Hospital, Manipal, where he died on Sunday, Aug 20.
