Mangalore, Aug 22: The convention of Congress workers organised at Shanti Nilaya on Monday August 21 was a mixture of blame games, commotion and confusion.
KPCC chief Mallikarjuna Kharge, in his address, said that the Congress would launch a mass struggle to bring out the irregularities in the BJP-JDS coalition and alleged that former prime minister H D Deve Gowda was silent on the issue of his son chief minister Kumaraswamy taking bribes from mine owners.
Meanwhile, supporters of former minister Ramanath Rai launched a protest when district Congress President Blasius D'Souza missed out Ramanath Rai's name in his welcome address. Though Rai tried to pacify the crowd, they continued shouting slogans against Blasius D'Souza.
Later, Kharge referred to the issue and requested to unite and not be divided into groups within the party.
