One of four brothers alive in Jammu flash flood

Jammu, Aug 5 (IANS): One of the four brothers who were feared to have drowned Tuesday in flash floods in Jammu, has managed to survive, police said.

Earlier reports said the four brothers - who had gone to bathe in the river - had drowned in the flash floods in Manjakote village in Rajouri district. Two bodies had been recovered and a search was on for the remaining two, police said.

"The third body was also recovered and the fourth brother was found to be alive after he was washed away by the flood," a senior police officer told IANS here.

Flash floods in seasonal streams are a common feature especially in the mountainous areas of Jammu and Kashmir during the monsoon season.
