Centre issues flood warning in Keonjhar


New Delhi, Aug 5 (IANS): The union ministry of water resources Tuesday warned of a "high flood situation" in Keonjhar district of Odisha where the Baitarani river is flowing at a level higher than usual.

"River Baitarani at Anandapur in Keonjhar district of Odisha is now flowing in high flood situation," a statement from the water ministry said here.

The statement added that the river was flowing at a level of 41.04 metres with a rising trend early morning.

This was 2.68 metres above its danger mark of 38.36 metres.
