New Delhi, Aug 7 (IANS): A month-long campaign using videos, folk media, pamphlets and cleanliness drive was launched in Delhi Thursday to educate people about dengue and its symptoms.
Aimed at spreading awareness on preventive measures against dengue across the national capital region (NCR) with special focus on north east and west Delhi, the campaign "Dengue Mukt Delhi" (dengue-free Delhi) was launched by the Max India Foundation.
"A team of doctors, medical staff and our volunteers would educate people. This would be supported by puppet shows to educate people about preventive measures," said a statement.
"The foundation has lined up 21 preventive camps that are expected to cover 10,000 people across urban slum areas within the city," it added.
The foundation has partnered the municipal corporations which will fumigate all the areas of the camps.
Delhi and the NCR region has reported 16 dengue cases till July 5.
