Three prisoners escape from Kolkata jail


Kolkata, Aug 8 (IANS): Three prisoners, including a murder convict, escaped from the city's Alipore Central Correctional Home Friday, a West Bengal minister said.

"Three prisoners - two undertrials and a convict - escaped from the correctional home by scaling a wall early Friday. We have ordered a probe into this. Police are on the lookout and we hope to apprehend them soon," Correctional Administration Minister Haider Aziz Safwi said.

The two undertrials are accused of murder and dacoity while the third is a murder convict.
