Mangalore, Aug 26: The 35th anniversary of Chitra Bharathi was inaugurated on Friday August 25.

Actress Jayamala inaugurated the programme while music director V Manohar inaugurated the seven-day Tulu film festival which was part of the celebrations. K N Taylor, film director and M Raghunath Shet, proprietor, S L Shet Diamonds House, spoke on the occasion.

A Tulu film photography exhibition was also held on the occasion at Town Hall. Around fifteen rare photographs of Tulu films were on display, both black and white and colour. Some of the movies whose photographs were displayed were Dareda Budedi, Kaasdaye Kandani, Yer Malthina Thapu, Pagethapuge, Bisatthi Babu and others.

As part of the film festival various Tulu films will be screened over the next seven days at 10 am at Jyothi theatre here. The films are Badkada Bile on August 26, Koti Chennaiya on August 27, Maribale on August 28, Pagethapuge on August 29, Bollidota on August 30 and Sathya Olundu on August 31.
