Kasargod: Cleaner killed as lorry overturns

Kasargod, Aug 9: A lorry laden with chicken overturned at Edruthode near Nellikatte here while giving way to another vehicle. The incident happened on Friday August 8 at 9 am. 

The cleaner of the lorry died and two more injured in the accident.

The deceased is identified as Kuntar resident Krishna Naik's son Suresh(19). Lorry driver Gopala and another person named Shanker are injured. They have been admitted to Chengala government hospital.

The lorry was plying from Badiadka to Kasargod and lost control while giving way to another vehicle lost at Edruthodu road slope and turned turtle.

Though Suresh was rushed to the hospital, he died without responding to the treatment. Local people and the police reached the spot, lifted the injured and took them to the hospital. 

Vidyanagar station police have registered a case and are investigating.

The dead body is taken to Kasargod general hospital for postmortem. The family members have reached the Kasargod taluk hospital.
