Mangalore: NCACSP-2014 conference inaugurated at SJEC

Mangalore, Aug 13: A two-day National Conference on 'Advances in Communication and Signal Processing NCACSP-2014' organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, St Joseph Engineering College was held here on Wednesday August 13 at the Seminar hall.

Fr Ajith Menezes, in-charge director of SJEC, inaugurated the conference. In his presidential address, he said, "Communicating is something when you and I talk to each other, having a conversation is communicating. We cannot keep quite without communicating with someone, just like we keep on breathing. We need to communicate to collect information, need to communicate to support, encourage and love someone."


"In the technological sense, communication has developed so much that the people communicate with their friends through WhatsApp, Facebook and other various methods," he added.

A book and CD titled 'Advances in Communication and Signal Processing' was released by Dr Muralidhar Kulkarni on the occasion.

Chief guest of the ceremony, Dr Muralidhar Kulkarni, professor NITK, Surathkal in his speech said, "This is a National level conference and in the coming days, this conference should be an International conference. This time there are 29 NCACSP papers to be presented and in future it should increase to 70 or 80."

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Joseph Gonsalves, said, "Advancement of technology happens only through research. If you want to create or invent anything, you have to do the research first. Doing research is the very first step. Realization of your mistakes happen only when you do the research."

Prajwal Jasmine D'Souza, convener of NCACSP-2014 welcomed the guests while professor B V Nityananda, HOD of ECE briefed about NCACSP-2014.

Chithra U R, co-convener proposed the vote of thanks.

Dr Rio D'Souza, staff of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and students from various colleges were present for the conference.
