Kundapur: School bus tumbles, children escape with minor injuries

Kundapur, Aug 14: A school bus carrying children to school from Neralakatte to Tallur in the taluk tumbled by the roadside near the railway bridge in Hattiangady village.

Reportedly, the driver lost control over the vehicle after one of its tyres burst. About 22 children travelling in the bus escaped with minor injuries. All of them were admitted to a private hospital in the town.


Byndoor block education officer Bhaskar Shetty, block coordinating officer Chandra Naik, cluster resource person Ganapati Hoblidar and others visited the school and held discussions with the school administration as well as parents of the injured children.

Kundapur Deputy Superintendent of Police C B Patil, circle inspector Diwakar P M, traffic police and zilla panchayat education standing committee chairman Ganapati T Shriyan, visited the spot.

A case was registered relating to this accident at the traffic police station here.
