India's Harmanpreet reprimanded for Level 1 offence

Dubai, Aug 15 (IANS): India women’s cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur Friday has been reprimanded after pleading guilty to a Level 1 breach of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Code of Conduct during the first day’s play in the first Test against England women's team in Wormsley Tuesday.

Kaur was found to have breached the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “Showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during an International Match.”

The charge was brought by on-field umpires Billy Taylor and David Millns.

The batter admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by ICC Match Referee David Jukes. As such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

All Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee.
