Talk of the town - Samantha's bikini in 'Anjaan'

Chennai, Aug 16 (IANS): Known mostly for playing the girl-next-door on screen, actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who for the first time flaunted a bikini in recently released Tamil actioner "Anjaan", has attracted a lot of attention.

While "Anjaan" has been panned by critics and audiences, Samantha stole the limelight with her bikini act.

In the film, Samantha features in a bikini for just a few seconds in a song, but she plays an extremely glamorous role.

"It was a pleasant surprise to all her fans. We loved her in the completely glamorous avatar," said Rajesh Kumar, an avid fan of Samantha.

Hours after "Anjaan" released Friday, it was Samantha's picture in a bikini that was trending on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

Unimpressed with the film, most said the silver lining of "Anjaan" was Samantha in a bikini.

Samantha didn't mind flaunting a bikini and she did it because it was an important film for her.

"'Anjaan' will make or break my career in Tamil. It's an important film and I'm nervous about it," she had said while promoting the film.

Samantha upped the glamour quotient to find her foothold back in Tamil filmdom after a series of flops such as "Nadunisi Naaygal" and "Neethaane En Ponvasantham".
