PM expresses grief over loss of life in Uttarakhand

New Delhi, Aug 16 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday expressed grief over the deaths caused by heavy rain in Uttarakhand.

Modi "has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand and extends his condolences to families of the deceased", a statement from the Prime Minister's Office said.

More than 20 people have died as heavy rain wreaked havoc in the hill states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.
