Moodbidri, Sep 3:  “We should donate to causes of improvements and facilities in educational institutions, which could be an ideal service to education,”said police sub inspector Umapati here.

He was speaking at a function organized to mark the inauguration of the speed-breaker gates donated by Raymond D’Cunha Taccode in the name of Pingara Kannada  weekly, to the Zilla Panchayat Higher Primary School, Prantya, Moodbidri.

Raymond said that he owed it to the society after having been a student of different institutions and being educated  made it incumbent for one to serve the society in return.

Moodbidri town municipality vice president Suresh Kotian said that a newspaper should always be community-oriented and should be different as Pingara had shown the way.

Raymond D`Cunha is also the official correspondent of Daijiworld.com in Moodbidri and Mangalore

Donor Raymond D’Cunha was honoured on the occasion. School headmaster Ananda welcomed the gathering. Kushala proposed a vote of thanks. Ratnavati Achar compered the programme.
