Mangalore: ICYM organizes Simson Football Fiesta-2014 at Bajpe

Mangalore, Aug 18: Indian Catholic Youth Movement, St Joseph’s Church Bajpe and Simson Gun House jointly organized an Inter Parish Football Tournament 'Simson Football Fiesta-2014.

28 teams from Mangalore and Udupi diocese had took part in the tournament. It was a three day tournament. Fr Praveen D’Souza, assistant parish priest St Joseph’s Church, Bajpe, Jockim D’Costa, Denis D’Souza, Sharol Simson, Henry Simson, Br Hector Pinto, Br Mills, Sr Liza B S, Melreeda Rodrigues, Ronald Prakash D’Souza, Alwyn D’Souza, Samuel Simson, Yohan Simson and Augustine D’Souza were the chief guests for the tournament.

A friendly match was organized for the women; Bajpe parish won the tournament and Kulshekar parish were the runners up. In the men's section, Valencia parish was declared the champions while Bajpe parish was declared the runners up.

The tournament was held at St Joseph’s PU College between August 15 and 17. This tournament was sponsored by Prakash Simson, owner of Simson Gun House Bajpe.

Santosh Mascarenas, ex-member, ICYM Bajpe was felicitated on the occasion.

The vote of thanks was given by Ruben D’Souza, president of ICYM, Bajpe.
