Bangalore, Sep 3: In what is seen as a major moral boost to the information sector in Karnataka, software icon and chief mentor of Infosys, N R Narayana Murthy has accepted the government's offer to head the Vision Group on IT and provide guidance to the sector in the state.

"I am grateful to you for inviting me to chair the State Vision Group. It will be both a privilege and pleasure to do so," Murthy said in a letter dated August 26 to chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

It was released by the chief minister's office on Saturday.
