Udupi, Sep 6: Sri Ram Sene has set Thursday September 14 as deadline to stop cattle slaughter and conversion in the district.

Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday September 5, Sri Ram Sene district convener Kumarawamy said that they will give information about places where conversion activities and illegal slaughter of cattle is going on to the district police. "Based on this the police should take action against them by September 14.  Till then we will not attack restaurants providing beef or vehicles involved in illegal transport of cattle," he added.

He also said that it is mandatory to sing 'Vande Mataram' in schools and colleges.  Sri Ram Sene would celebrate the centenary celebrations of Vande Mataram at the service bus stand here on Thursday September 7 evening at 4.30.  On September 6 and 7, Sri Ram Sene members would visit schools and colleges in the city and teach students to sing Vande Mataram, he said.
