Bantwal, Sep 6: A young man from Moodushedde near Mangalore is reported to have drowned in river at Ajilamogaru near here on Tuesday September 5 evening.
Mansoor (22) had come to one of his relatives' house at Ajilamogaru on Tuesday. In the evening he had gone for swimming in the nearby river along with five others. As they were swimming in the river, Mansoor suddenly disappeared after being snatched by whirlpool. Those who were with him managed to reach the river bank safely.
The news spread in the region very fast and locals arrived in big number to the spot. Though they tried to trace Mansoor, they could not. Finally they sought help from Pandeshwar fire brigade personnel who are at the spot now and trying to trace Mansoor.
