Mangalore, Sep 6: Now the high school girls of Dakshina Kannada district need not walk several kilometres or depend on crowded private buses to reach school.  They are now proud owners of a bicycle of their own.

District in-charge minister distributed the first lot of the bicycle to school girls at a function held in the Town Hall on Wednesday September 6 evening.

Minister Nagaraj Shetty inaugurated the programme.

Deputy commissioner Maheshwar Rao, MLA Yogish Bhat, ZP president Mamata Gatti, vice-president Dharanendra Kumar, deputy director of department of public instructions (DDPI) Shankarappa were also present on the occasion.
