Byndoor, Sep 7: The Byndoor police arrested a chain snatcher on Wednesday. The alert cops caught the thief in swift action within 24 hours.

On Tuesday Sep 5, Mukambu Poojarti (28) with two of her friends was walking towards Kotemane Sri Durgambika temple in Shiroor village when an unknown person came from behind and snatched her Mangal Sutra and necklace from her friend’s neck.

Based on the complaint lodged at the police stations, the police in swift action nabbed the chain snatcher. Narayan Naik (27) was nabbed when he was boarding the bus to Bhatkal after selling the stolen jewellery.
