Puttur, Sep 7: The failure of the managing committee of Bettampady Government College to appoint English lecturer despite protest from students has pushed students to resume their strike from Thursday September 7.  College leader Praveen said that students have no other way than going on strike till the lecturer is appointed.

It could be recalled that the college students had boycotted classes on August 28 demanding the appointment of English and commerce lecturer.  During this time, the management has promised that they would appoint the lecturers within a week.  However, they have not been appointed yet.  For the last few years, the college has no permanent English lecturer.
