Udupi, Sep 11: In a fit of rage, MP Manorama Madhwaraj who has been out rightly opposing the setting up of the 1,015 MW coal-based Nagarjuna Power Project at Yellur, urged the government to conduct a Narco Analysis on Nagarjuna Power Corporation Limited chairman and managing director K S Raju.
Hinting at the work of a powerful lobby of industrialists who want the power project to be set up at Yellur, the MP said that the analysis will however help disclose the names of the beneficiaries who have been paid by him for the project.
She was speaking at an interaction programme of political parties organised by the Nagarjuna Ushna Vidyut Sthavara Virodhi Samiti, here on Sunday.
The NPCL has been carrying on with the project despite opposition from the local governance. Manorama challenged the company to make public the records concerning the permission.
Udupi Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat had rejected the project and why should the government impose the project? questioned Manorama.
