Mangalore, Sep 11: K R Chandra, a teacher at Someshwara Anandashrama high school here, was awarded with the prestigious Dr Radhakrishna Award on Saturday September 9.
The award, constituted by the Karnataka Pratibha Academy, was presented at a function at Puttannachetty Hall in Bangalore by the minister for primary and higher education Basavaraja Horatti.
The award is in recognition of Chandra's contribution to the field of education in the last 33 years of his service. Besides being a teacher, he is also a social worker and a noted writer who has written for popular Kannada magazines.
He has also been the recipient of the 'Jana Mechchida Shikshaka' award.
