Mangalore, Sep 12: The members of various organizations, farmers and customers' organizations and general public have strongly opposed any hike power tariff.  On the other hand they have demanded MESCOM to introduce and adopt new measures to make their service effective.

The people, who gathered at a public meet organized by Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Board (KERC) on Monday, expressed their opinion in the presence of KERC chairman K P Pande, members H S Subrahmanya and S D Ukkali.

MLA N Yogish Bhat who was present at the meet suggested for controlling the distribution loss which would help also in keeping the tariff in check. He also appealed Mescom to provide incentives for paying the bill promptly.

Meanwhile Mescom managing director S Sumanth said that Mescom tops in collection of bills and reduction in the distribution loss in the entire state.
