Mangalore, Sep 14: The much-awaited verdict on reservations of mayoral post is expected to be out on Thursday September 14.

After for and against opinions promoted by Congress and BJP parties regarding the mayoral elections, a petition had been filed in the High Court.  Since the case had been pending in the High Court for last one and half month, the present mayor K Ashraf whose term was over by July 31, is still continuing at the helm of MCC.  Even the state government has shown little interest in appointing an administrator owing to which K Ashraf is still in-charge of MCC affairs.

However, he lacks all ad ministerial powers.  This tug-of-war has left the developmental works of the city in limbo.  This could well be judged by state of roads within the MCC limits.

So High Court verdict on Thursday is expected to bring a new life dormant MCC.  Though the hearing was over a fortnight ago, judgement was still pending.  Now that High Court verdict on Belgaum City Corporation is out on Wednesday, MCC too is expecting the judgement on Thursday.  But no one can forget that it had been postponed at least 2-3 times in the last one and half month.
