Rock show to raise funds for Bengal orphanage

Kolkata, Sep 4 (IANS): Four city-based rock bands will belt out top retro hits and new compositions for free during a fundraiser Sep 16 for an orphanage in West Bengal.

Christened "Wipe Those Tears", the entire proceeds of the event will go towards the benefit of more than 70 inhabitants of the Antyodaya Anath Ashram in East Midnapore district.

The concert, featuring bands Seventh Sensation, Cadence Of Tears, Fifstrick Avenue and Danpitey will be held at the Uttam Mancha.

"Seventh Sensation will be performing for the first time for the public. The mix of artistes includes upcoming and established ones. Moreover, they are all performing for free," Moinak Ganguly of event management group Rage of Youth told IANS Thursday.

Ganguly, who is also a member of Fifstrick Avenue, said the musicians will churn out hard rock numbers from ACDC and Guns N' Roses as well as popular Hindi and Bengali rock songs.
