Mangalore, Sep 16: "Beary language has rich history and traditions. People from Beary community are spread from Chandragiri in Kasargod to Barkur in Udupi. It is high time that their culture and traditions are studied in a scientific manner, so that the coming generations are able to carry on this tradition for the years to income," said Suratkal MLA Krishna J Palemar.
He was speaking after inaugurating Beary Research Centre on Friday September 15. The office of the centre was inaugurated by U K Monu, president of Kanachur Academy of General Education. B M Mumtaz distributed scholarships to the students on the occasion.
M K Bandi, chief librarian of Mangalore varsity, Mohammad Haris, Hameed Kandak and Noor Mohammad were also present on the occasion.
