Mangalore, Sep 18:  In three separate instances, the police have arrested a total of 27 persons during its raids on gambling dens.

On Saturday Sep 16, the Ullal police raided K P Recreation club at Sri Krishna Complex Thokkotu Ullal and found 5 persons playing ‘Ander- Bahar’ with cards. The police obtained cash Rs 1, 945 and playing cards from the spot and arrested Kishore, Aural D’Souza (40), Louis D’Souza (52), Mohammed (58), Sabi D’Souza (45) and Fredrick D’Souza (44) who were indulged in gambling.

In another case the Ullal police conducted a raid on Talapady Recreation Association at Talapady village and arrested 14 persons who were found gambling. A total of Rs 15, 915 cash has been confiscated.

Bhaskar Shetty (46), Girish Shetty (27), Lancy Noronha (33), Hassan (35), Chandappa (35), Musa (32), Ahamed Bava G (57), Moidu (42), Ramesha (48), Abdulla (40), Sukumara (52), Shashikantha (43), Prakash (38) and Ramesh (25) have been arrested.


On the same day the Moodbidri police conducted a raid on Anjaneya Recreation club at Navadeep Complex Marpady village and arrested 8 persons found gambling. Umesha (32), Nithyananda (28), Sathish (29), Udaya Kumar (32), Sundar Poojary (30), Santhosh (27), Sandeep (34) and Abbu (36) are the arrested.
