SC seeks response from CBI director


New Delhi, Sep 9 (IANS): The Supreme Court Tuesday sought response from CBI director Ranjit Sinha on a plea by NGO Common Cause charging him with meeting alleged accused in the coal scam cases.

The apex court bench, headed by Chief Justice R.M. Lodha, sought a response from the CBI director within 10 days.

The NGO Common Cause has sought a special investigation team (SIT) probe into the matter.

The apex court Monday asked Sinha to respond to allegations by NGO CPIL that he has been frequently meeting those accused in the 2G case and others being probed by the investigating agency.
