GDA proposes new traffic plan at Mohan Nagar

Ghaziabad, Sep 9 (IANS): The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has proposed a new traffic regulation plan at Mohan Nagar, an official said Tuesday.

The authority has sought public suggestions on its helpline numbers 0120-6450580, helplinegda@gmail.com and WhatsApp number 09818988807, vice chairman Santosh Yadav said at a press conference here.

Yadav said: "The Institute of Urban Transport carried out a survey and suggested construction of a flyover as a long-term solution and traffic diversion on link roads as short-term answer."

The authority approved short-term solution since the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is expected to start construction work in October.

Accordingly, traffic from Ghaziabad to Delhi via Link Road will continue but vehicles coming from Delhi via Link Road will take a right turn and return from Rajendra Nagar to Hindon Air Force Station.

The traffic from Gyani border to Ghaziabad will go via Hindon Air Force station. Vehicles from Loni side will enter from Karan Gate police post into Rajendra Nagar and proceed to Dilshad Garden or towards Ghaziabad via Katori Mill and Hindon Air Force station.

Loni commuters to Ghaziabad can either go straight via Hindon Air Force station or via Rajendra Nagar Katori Mill and again Hindon Air Force station. Those from Dilshad Garden will have to divert from Katori Mill towards Hindon Air Force station.

After the DMRC project is over, the authority will construct a flyover adjoining the Metro tracks.
