Japanese business delegation meets UP chief minister


Lucknow, Sep 9 (IANS): A high-level delegation of Japanese multinational NEC Tuesday met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and showed interest in investing in the electronics sector, an official said.

The delegation was led by Takayuki Morita, Global Business Head of NEC.

The meeting was in connection with the Electronics Manufacturing Policy - 2014 announced by the state government, a government spokesman said.

During the meeting Yadav told the visiting delegation that the new policy had been implemented to attract electronics producing units and for promoting investment in the electronics manufacturing sector.

The Japanese MNC in particular showed interest in the incubator system under the 2014 policy under which investors are being given many financial and non-financial benefits.
