Government invites nominations for Padma awards


New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS): The government Wednesday said the process of submitting nominations for the Padma Awards 2015 was open and the nominations in prescribed proforma should reach it in the next five days.

A home ministry release said the nominations should be accompanied with a brief narrative citation.

"The process of receipt of nominations for the Padma Awards 2015 is presently open. The nominations may be sent in the prescribed proforma along with a brief narrative citation (maximum in two pages containing not more than 800 words)," the release said.

It said the nominations should be sent at the following address: Home minister/Home secretary, Government of India, ministry of home affairs, North Block, New Delhi-110001.

The release said the last date for receipt of the nominations was Sep 15 and nominations received without the prescribed proforma and citation will not be considered.

It said that further details are available at 'awards and medals' on the home ministry's website: www.mha.nic.in.

"The proforma for application is available on the union home ministry's website with the link: http://mha.nic.in/sites/upload_files/mha/files/Proforma-EnglishRevised-050514.pdf," the release added.
