Mild earthquake hits New Zealand

Wellington, Sep 12 (IANS): An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale jolted New Zealand's North Canterbury region Friday, media reported.

The earthquake struck the region 20 km north of Christchurch, the largest city on South Island, at 12.18 p.m., Stuff.co.nz reported.
