Kundapur, Sep 22: The Byndoor Railway Station Protest Committee met union railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav at Madgaon on Tuesday September 19 while latter's visit to Goa.
The delegation led by railway parliamentary committee member and Chikmagalur MP D C Sirkanthappa met the minister and demanded him to upgrade the Byndoor railway station. The railway station is at a close distance to Sri Mookambika Temple at Kollur and if upgraded, it would be of great benefit to thousands of devotees who come to the temple. The committee also complained that despite several appeals and protests, railway ministry has been neglecting the upgradation of the station.
Minister of state of railways, R Velu, Konkani Railway Corporation president Dr K K Gokhale were also present on the occasion.
Accepting the appeal, railway minister Lalu Prasad said that he is a great devotee of goddess Mookambika and that he would see that the station is soon upgraded.
Committee president H Subraya Sheregar, working president K Venkatesh Kini etc were also the members of the delegation.
