Mangalore, Sep 23: “Manasa Manthana”- the paper presentation programme organized by the management club of AIBA, St Aloysius College was inaugurated by Prof G V Joshi, HOD, faculty of economics, Mangalore University on Wednesday September 20 morning. The programme was held at Eric Mathias Hall of the IT Centre of St Aloysius College.
Apollo Fernandes, vice-president, HR, MCF was the chief guest on the occasion. Dr Paul Acquinas, dean, AIBA welcomed the gathering. Fr Francis Serrao SJ, rector, St Aloysius College presided over the function.
Dr Joshi in his keynote address expressed the opinion that the World Development Report in 2006 covered all the issues and challenges. Equity and development are the key factors to be discussed. Globalization has thrust certain problems as much as the opportunities it has provided.
Chief guest Apollo Fernandes in his address emphasized on adult training and development programme. He also said that institutions should train students to be managers. The skills required include cognitive skills, emotional skills and intellectual skills.
The best paper for finance-Indian banks in the global context-issues and concerns was awarded to Dylan John Rebello, marketing-Marketing of Indian products globally-issues and concerns to Rakesh T T, general management-Indian MNC’s in global context-issues and concerns to Madan Kumar M Kamath and the best paper for HR-Indian workforce in global context-issues and concerns was awarded to Vineeth Susan Mathew. Student convener Praveen Prabhu proposed the vote of thanks.
