Kundapur, Sep 27: Thieves, who broke open into a house at Moodugopadi near Koteshwar here, have decamped with valuables and cash worth more than Rs 20,000 on Tuesday September 26.
The theft has been reported from one Santhosh Shetty's house at Moodugopadi. Santhosh is the manager of Shri Ramakrishna Cooperative Society here. He had gone to Bangalore a couple of days ago. Meanwhile his wife had gone to her parental house at Ardi. So there was no one else in the house.
Taking advantage of this, the thieves have broken open the house and have ransacked the house. They have stolen DVD player, silver plates, taps, shower taps, silver box etc. Thieves have also decamped with Rs 3,500 in cash. The total worth of the stolen valuables is estimated to be more than Rs 20,000.
Involvement of some locals is suspected in the case. It is said that people those who knew that no one was in the house, have managed break open into hit. This theft case comes close on the heels of similar cases at Beejadi, Vakwadi and other areas in the last few days.
