Mangalore, Sep 18: Thieves are thieves. They seldom care about the identity and integrity of their targets. They just want booty. These days they do not even spare God. What else? They have a secularist approach. They visit all religious places without discrimination.

It is reported that Holy Redeemer Church at Derebail in the city lost a box out of the many boxes kept at specified places during the novena of Mother of sorrows. The box contained approximately Rs 2,500 collected from devotees.

When the church authorities went for further investigations it was learnt that an unknown person above the age of 50 managed to sneak into the place and fled with the box at noon on Sunday September 14. September. They used the CCTV camera records to know this fact.

In another incident at Charvaka Kapileshwara temple near Kadaba, thieves managed to flee with jewelry and cash. It is reported that cash stolen was around Rs 15,000 while the jewelry was worth Rs 50,000. This is the fourth theft reported from the temple in the recent past.
