Mangalore, Sep 28: As reported earlier in these columns the suspension order issued against two city-based cops was revoked on Monday September 25. But within a day, this order has taken another twist with DGP's office asking these police officers to report to duty in Bangalore immediately or else be ready to face second round of suspension.
Bunder police inspector Vinay Gaonkar and Burke station SI Pavan Kumar had been suspended by IGP H N Satyanarayana for allegedly arresting one Rony without proof and remanding him to judicial custody with regard to the land dispute between Jangama Math and Rony. However, Rony had filed a petition in the court and also with the home ministry.
Following this the home minister had directed Western Range IGP H N Satyanarayana to conduct an enquiry into the matter. As per his directions, IGP had instructed Panambur DySP P Heraje to investigate the matter. The enquiry had found both the officers on the wrong side and hence they were suspended a few days ago.
But their suspension order was revoked on Monday September 25. However, nothing was mentioned about their new assignment. However, some sources had claimed that the cops would be posted in the district itself. But the DGP's order has now directed them join duty in Bangalore or be ready for another suspension.
