Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 20 (IANS): Leader of opposition in the Kerala assembly V.S. Achuthanandan saturday slammed the KSEB for disconnecting power supply to the office of parliamentarian Innocent at Angamaly in Ernakulam district for not paying the bill.
"It's shocking to see the way the KSEB proceeded when Innocent's bill of Rs. 365 was not paid. No action has been taken by authorities against those in the liquor business whose combined power arrears are Rs. 237 crore," said Achuthanandan in a statement here.
Film star-turned-politician Innocent had won the Chalakudy Lok Sabha seat as a Left-supported independent candidate defeating Congress veteran P.C.Chacko.
The Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) disconnected the electricity supply to his office Tuesday for not paying the bi-monthly power bill.
The electricity to Innocent's office was restored Wednesday after the bill was paid.
