Kasargod: Revenue officials seize lorries illegally transporting sand

Kasargod, Sep 20: Revenue officials have seized eight lorries of sand while being transported from Karnataka to Kerala. Officials on inspection duty at Manjeshwar, Hosangadi, Talapady and so on have seized the lorries coming their way.

They came to know that the sand was being transported illegally after verifying the records. "Though the drivers said that the sand was being transported from Andhra Pradesh, the Revenue officials confirmed that it was from Karnataka," said Kasargod Tahsildar K Shivakumar. Manjeshwar Tahsildar Prabhakar, Hussain and others participated in the operation.
