Kasargod, Sep 20: "Modi wave in the country is sinking. It has echoed in the by-elections held recently," said KPCC president V M Sudheeran.

He was speaking after inaugurating the District Congress Convention held at Imex hall in Cherkala on Thursday September 19. "The progress of the Congress party in the by-elections is an indication of the end of influence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The attempt of the BJP to divide the people has backfired. CPM's criminal politics is a clear example. The murder case of Kadiyoor Manoj shows it," he added.

"There are indications that the Congress rule will continue in the state in the Legislative Assembly elections. UDF has taken suitable decisions such as ban on liquor. After the reorganization of Mandala-Booth, the convention is a part of conventions to be held in all districts," he added.

District Congress president C K Sridharan presided over the programme. KPCC vice president M Hassan, K P Anil Kumar, secretary K P Kunhikannan, Satishan Pachveni, Rajashekaran T, Siddiq, T Sharathchandra Prasad and several Congress leaders were present during the convention.
