New York, Sep 21 (IANS): A man's selfie with his "stolen dead girlfriend", that has received much flak from members of a social networking website, may not be as grotesque as it was previously thought as the "dead girlfriend" turned out be a high-quality prop.
The photo was uploaded by BoiledEggs, an account holder in Reddit, a social networking service and news website where registered community members can submit content.
"Dude in CA. steals his dead GF from morgue and posts picture to his social media page," the caption of the photo read.
The story soon went viral on various other social media platforms.
While not all Redditors believed the authenticity of the photo, many were disturbed by the content, PIX11 reported.
The man in the photo, a production assistant, said the photo was posted online by his friend without his permission, according to Gawker.
